                      NEW STUDENTS

New Student Registration Forms must be submitted online.  Registration forms are processed on a first come first served basis.  Once your registration form has been processed (takes 2 to 3 days), we will advise you of space availability for the upcoming session.  As we operate on a per session basis for teaching subjects and testing, new students may join a session only during the first two weeks of a session.   Registrations received after that two week period, will automatically be placed on the waiting list for the next session.

New students must have reached minimum age by the start date of a session to join the class in their age group.

Registered new students may attend the first class of a session as a trial class, with no obligation.  If a new student wishes to continue attending classes after the trial class, an invoice will then be issued for the student fees and a uniform (dogi).  Dogis of all sizes are available at the Dojo; prices are shown below on this page.

Students/parents are required to sign a Release of Liability form before the first class (a paper copy will be provided at the Dojo).

  1. 2 classes per week (no fee reduction if attending fewer classes).

  2. Membership in the Shorei-Kan Canada Karate Association.

  3. Student Record of Promotion upon initial registration.

  4. Tests from 10th Kyu (White Belt) through 1st Kyu (3 stripes Brown Belt).

  5. Belts/stripes.

First family member, fees as above.  Each additional family member, $10.00 off.

Students will be invoiced by e-mail using the Wave payment system.  It takes 24 to 48 hours to process a payment and issue a receipt.  Payment can be made by:

1. E-transfer at

(this is the preferred method of payment), or

2. Cheque (payable to "Shorei-Kan Shuswap"), or

3. Cash.

Once a payment has been made, there is no refund.
